I thought that french toast would be enough over the weekend - but what would Valentine's Day be without some chocolate covered, long stem strawberries! Look - Taz is so happy I'm about to make them....
Thanks for the kisses Tazzy.
What you'll need:
Some large, long stem strawberries
12 oz bag of white chocolate
12 oz bag of dark chocolate
Melt the chocolate over a double boiler (water in pot over a low flame - another bowl sitting on top - but not touching the water in pot).
First I melted the white chocolate and dipped most of the berries. Then place them on a baking sheet with a silpat (silicon material that will let the chocolate release easily).
Mmmmm and now the dark....
After the strawberries are dipped in white chocolate - you could either stop here and just have some white, some dark.... but what if we do BOTH?? We have berries ready for a black tie event!*Fun idea if you are going to be throwing an Oscar party! It's less than two weeks away!
I dipped a few in dark chocolate first, then drizzled some white on top.
For the "Tux look" - it is very easy! Dip the side of the white chocolate strawberries in dark chocolate so you've made the "V" shape - return to fridge so it can set up. Then use a toothpick and make the three buttons (just dot the chocolate on). Then above the top button, use a tooth pick to make the bow tie shape! It's not hard!
Taz - what a wonderful Valentine's Day treat idea! Good puppy - we will really surprise Daddy John when he gets home!!! But for now, I will help you hold your chew bone :-)
